Marc was one of the all time great photo journalists. His extensive body of work taken in Asia, particularly. In China and India is just extraordinary.

I came across this image in his archive by chance whilst preparing a big exhibition of his work for the gallery a few years back. It was a complete surprise. I was a football fan since a kid and there are not too many truly great images of the game in the history of photography. But this is certainly one of them. The perfect composition and you are there with that crowd and can hear the cheers. And you don’t only have to be an Arsenal fan to appreciate it right?
