American skateboarding legend Paul Rodriguez was the first Nike SB athlete to have his own signature sneaker model, which was released in 2005 under the Nike SB label. The P-Rod Zoom Air Elite ‘Futura’ is the best of both worlds, with the construction born from P-Rod but features designs by legendary graffiti artist Futura. His signature detailed artwork appears throughout the sneaker’s upper. 

Brooklyn local Leonard Hilton McGurr, known as Futura, is one of the founding fathers of the graffiti movement in New York. Futura belongs to a notable group of artists that came out of New York City - all of whom were exhibited at The Fun Gallery - including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Dondi White.

Notably, Futura also designed the Nike Dunk High ‘FLOM’ one of the most iconic and rare designs in the history of Nike SB.
