Named after the renowned watchmaker, scientist, as well as one of the founding fathers of A. Lange & Söhne, the Richard Lange collection inherits the adventurous and experimental spirit of this mastermind innovator. The present Tourbillon pour le Mérite is no exception, exemplifying an immaculate dial design split into three areas, each displaying the minutes, hours and seconds respectively. Referred to be the regulator design, this triple overlap is inspired by a pocket chronometer created by Saxon watchmaker, Johann Heinrich Seyffert. The seconds subsidiary dial is ingeniously incorporated with the hand finished tourbillon, both synchronizing in absolute harmony. Featuring a hacking seconds, a pull on the crown will freeze the movement entirely, allowing time to be set with immense accuracy. Perhaps the most intriguing feature possessed by this powerhouse could be found on its hour display. Upon reaching 6 o'clock, an additional sector would appear from 8 to 10 o'clock to help the user read the hour of the day, and upon reaching 12 o'clock the sector would disappear, retracting itself from obstructing the view of the tourbillon. Such clever improvision of fine details is truly achievable only with the likes of A. Lange & Söhne.
