The first ever Royal Oak to feature two metals including tantalum would be the reference 56175TT in 1990, which incorporated stainless steel and tantalum for an overall grey presentation. Audemars Piguet would eventually venture into experimentation of different metals, including the present bi-metal tantalum and pink gold Royal Oak.
