Only in production from 1965 to 1969, the Rolex reference 6241 was made in a very limited quantity of approximately 2700 pieces and only a very limited numbers of them were fitted with a 'Paul Newman' dial. To the best of our knowledge, the majority of 6241 was made in stainless steel, where 400 pieces were made in 14k yellow gold and 300 pieces were made in 18k yellow gold.

Initially known to be the "exotic" dials, the "Paul Newman" dial was seen sported by this famous American actor in the mid 1980s, and gained immense popularity ever since. The present watch is a very attractive example of the Paul Newman reference 6241. The lumes plots are all aged consistently and are uniform in size. At 6 o'clock of the sunken outer seconds track, one can sport the slanted text "T Swiss T", which would be an exclusive feature of the 6239 and 6241. The successors 6262 and 6264 would instead have flat "T Swiss T" text indication. The Mk1 bakelite bezel is calibrated to 200 units and correct for the reference 6241. The numbers between the lugs are very crisp and easy to read making this reference 6241 a very appealing and original example.
