Launched in 1968 and produced for 12 years, the case of the reference 3558 is considered ‘Tonneau’ in shape, bearing large lugs and a 11mm thickness. Made by Wenger, this case is waterproof, with a screw-down base back and Calatrava cross crown. The movement is the caliber 12 460 (mono-date) with 37 jewels, Giromax balance, and massive gold rotor also used in reference 3445. Dials were made by Stern Freres.
It is not known how many references 3558 were made, but to date, less than 12 white gold examples have come to market, this being the first one to feature painted roman numerals.
