Staffordshire Large Figure of George Washington circa 1860

Another example of this rare figure is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, acc. no. 83.2.82, illustrated in P.D. Gordon Pugh, Staffordshire Portrait Figures and Allied Subjects of the Victoria Era, 1971, p. 237, pl. 22. fig. 69. The author wrote at the time of publication that the figure in the Met was the only example known to him.
