Peder Christensen Beyer was born in Bergen in 1743 and died in 1808 after having worked as a goldsmith and silversmith for several decades. Examples of his work, often revealing his enthusiasm for the sea and all its flora, fauna and mythologies, as well as for nature as a general source of inspiration, can be found in museum collections such as the Norwegian-American Vesterheim collection in the US.
