Vince Welnick

Kurzweil MidiBoard, ca. 1986

Keyboard controller (53.5 x 20.5 x 5.5’’). Steal Your Face logo sticker on front, tape on rear labelling the inputs for sound mixing the instrument live. Serial number: 861000312.

Early example of this iconic keyboard controller. This MidiBoard had no built in sounds, but was instead designed as a controller only. A key innovation was the keyboard’s ability to be split into three different zones and transmit on up to eight different MIDI channels, making it incredibly versatile. Originally introduced in 1986, with upgrades available, it was discontinued in 1989.
