Pen and brown ink and wash over black chalk in a quatrefoil;
extensively inscribed in brown ink, lower centre: Il Dissegno rapresenta lo sposalizio di Ercole con Hebe in Cielo fingendosi che il Dio Imeneo / conduca Hebe ad Ercole, ed esso la prenda per moglia, piu in alto in disparte si vede / La Dea Venere con le tre Grazie con diversi Amorini con face acere e fioriche ... / da baso vicino ed Ercole due Amorini, uno can Bacile l'altro che presenta a la sposa / diverse colane et altre Gioie;

Another version of this drawing, though without the appealing application of brown wash, is in a Private Collection, Munich.1 Brigitte Langer suggests that these two drawings possibly relate to ceilings Carlone painted in 1726 in the Palazzo Gallio in Como, or four years later in Heimsheim for Friedrich Wilhelm von Grävenitz.
