The Royal Oak is unanimously viewed as one of the most significant wristwatch designs to ever see light. Since 1972, the legendary sport-chic watch saw a multitude of variations come to life, including an elegant chronograph version such as the present piece.

The Royal Oak Chronograph was introduced in 1998, under the reference 25860. The timepiece was available in different variations and was mostly produced in stainless steel. Some examples however, were produced in yellow gold, such as the present lot. Rarely appearing at auction, these precious pieces are extremely coveted by collectors, especially when they are fitted with a blue dial and are accompanied by their original accessories like the present timepiece.
