Richard Mille is known for creating avant-garde specialist watches which combine old-world complications with new-world technology. His watches can be seen on the wrists of world class tennis champions such as Rafael Nadal, Tour de France stage win record holder Mark Cavendish, Formula 1 legend Alain Prost to name a few. The RM015 is no different.

Known as the Tourbillon Marine, and dedicated to the Perini Navi Cup, this reference was initially created to be worn by the crew of Richard Mille’s own world class racing yacht Scorcha. Ocean racing requires the careful management of time, and as these gruelling contests often take place across time zones, Richard Mille gave this watch a very practical dual time complication along with signature complications such as the tourbillon and torque indicator. What is especially practical is the pusher set in the crown, which similarly to Rolex’s Ring Command bezel sets the function of the crown with indicator on the dial: winding, neutral, time setting. Visible on the dial are also the second time zone indicator at 10 o’clock, power reserve at 1 o’clock and torque indicator at 3 o’clock which tells the user how much to wind the watch for optimal timekeeping accuracy.

Richard Mille watches are crafted for the ultimate sportsperson, and anyone who wears one can feel a sense of the athlete it was created for. Regardless of if one is a racing yacht pilot, enthusiast or not, the RM015 is a watch featuring a bevy of practical complications suitable for any collector who appreciates the engineering and design of this important independent brand.
