4 copperplate engraved maps (each to sight approximately: 520 x 396 mm). Handcoloring, inset maps of Cork, Dublin, Galway, and Limerick; a few stray spots, two or three closed tears expertly repaired (Connaugh). Matted and framed; not examined out of frames.

A striking group of maps of Ireland, from Speed's The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain—the first atlas of the British Isles. The beauty of these maps can be largely attributed their engraver, Jodocus Hondius, one of the most highly regarded Dutch engravers of the day.
