Woodcut map (to sight: 360 x 285 mm). Handcoloring, twelve windheads in border; restoration to upper margin and center fold. Matted and framed; not examined out of frame.

The present lot represents the first version of Munster's world map, and the standard world map from its first appearance in the Geographia of 1540 until superseded in 1588.
