Thlr.', [1 life-sized dog after the painting, for his Excellency the Privy Cabinet Minister Count von Brühl. 4 Taler.], Johannes Rafael, 'Zur Taxa Kaendler', Keramos 203/204, 2009, p. 49.

A pair of these models with contemporary wooden bases was sold at Sotheby's London, June 6, 1989, lot 178. An example of the mother and two cubs group, with the mother wearing a bow like the figure in the present lot, was in the Gustav and Charlotte von Klemperer Collection, Dresden, illustrated in Schnorr von Carolsfeld, Gustav von Klemperer collection catalogue, Dresden, 1928, taf. 86, no. 758. A further example of the mother and two cubs group is illustrated in Carl Albiker, Die Meissner Porzellantiere im 18. Jahrhundert, Berlin, 1935, pl. XLIV, no. 195. Kändler also modelled Danish hounds in a smaller size, an example of which was in the collection of  Sir Gawaine and Lady Baillie sold at Sotheby's London, May 1, 2013, lot 206.
