Dusautoy's workshop was in the rue de Charonne where he practiced all his life. He produced furniture in the Louis XV, Transitional, and Louis XVI styles and is primarily known for small pieces of furniture which were usually round, oval, or rectangular and with curved legs. A similar table to the present lot also stamped Dusautoy was sold at Christie's Paris on 7 November 2006, lot 388. Another example is illustrated in J. Nicolay, L'Art et la manière des maîtres ébénistes français au XVIIIe siècle (Paris 1976, p.170 fig. E).
