8vo (218 x 141 mm). 8 preliminary pages containing the resolution to Congress for admission and the standing committees; leaves toned at edges, one marginal chip. Stab-sewn in original peach printed wrappers; wrapper repaired at spine, short closed tear to rear wrapper. In a quarter red morocco slipcase, with folding chemise.
Containing the resolution to Congress for admission to the Union, the members of the various standing committees, and the entirety of the proceedings of the convention. Despite the constitution being ratified in 1882, Utah was not admitted as a state until 1896. The text is notable for granting women the right to vote.
