8vo (215 x 135 mm). Title-page; leaves a bit toned, offsetting, but bright. In early twentieth-century half red morocco ruled in gilt, spine with raised bands in six compartments, second compartment lettered in gilt, others with repeat eagle motif in gilt, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt; a little rubbed at hinges and edges, upper hinge a little weak.


A superb volume recording the early history and development of the state, handsomely bound. Containing the Charter to William Penn, early government Frames, and the proceedings of the Pennsylvania Constitutional Conventions of 1776 and 1790. Scarce.
