Description
Minnesota
Constitution of the State of Minnesota and the Organic Act for a Territorial Government; the Enabling Act Authorizing a State Government, and the Act of Admission into the Union; the Declaration of Independence and Articles of Confederation of the United States. Minneapolis: Harrison and Smith, State Printers, 1894
8vo (241 x 160 mm). Title-page with engraved vignette of the seal of Minnesota; browned especially at edges, title-page chipped at margins and stained, last leaf with closed marginal tears. Quarter brown morocco over marbled boards, spine with morocco label lettered in blue, pale green endpapers; small stray stains to endpapers.
A handsome edition, containing the complete text of the state constitution of Minnesota, the Declaration of Independence, and the Articles of Confederation. Article I of the constitution features an extensive bill of rights, which while similar to the amendments to the United States Constitution, have at times been the subject of interpretive conflict in relation to the amendments.
