8 ink and watercolour drawings for two series of Noddy and Friends Greetings Cards


each 120 x 164mm., ink and watercolour drawings, unsigned, all but one framed and glazed


These designs were made for two series of greetings cards based around the adventures of Enid Blyton's characters of Noddy and Friends published in the late 1950s. The first depicts Noddy in his red and yellow car with Sailor Doll arriving at the police station, with two bears arriving at Mr Noah's Ark captioned Happy Birthday, arriving at the police station to be greeted by a cat and a bear (accompanied by a preliminary watercolour sketch), flying with Noddy above the clouds past a pink castle, the car having sprouted wings; Noddy and Mrs Tubby walk past Big Ears in his house, Noddy sails past a lighthouse; Big Ears cycles past Noddy in his house.
