FIRST EDITION, second state, 8vo, 2 volumes, INSCRIBED BY THE AGA KHAN on the verso of the dedication leaf ("yours sincerely Aga Khan 25 Jan. 1900") and additionally signed by him on p.xiv, 7 photogravure portrait plates and 21 maps (20 folding), illustrations by Angus McNeill, 32-page publisher's catalogue dated 10/99 bound at the end of volume 1, blue half morocco gilt with original pictorial cloth upper covers bound at the front of each volume, dampstaining to volume 1, light spotting

Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah, Aga Khan III (1877-1957), who enjoyed a 50-year friendship with Churchill.
