signed Rodin, stamped with the foundry mark F. BARBEDIENNE Fondeur and stamped Achille Acollas Réduction Mécanique; stamped Y and 906 (in the interior)

height: 24,5 cm; 9⅝ in.
Conceived in 1884, this reduction in 1898 and cast in bronze between 1898 and 1918 in an edition of between 63 and 69 examples; this example cast in bronze circa 1902.
This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue Critique de l'oeuvre sculpté d'Auguste Rodin being currently prepared by Galerie Brame & Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive number 2021-6311B.
