西藏西 約十五世紀 無量壽佛唐卡 設色布本

Golden-bodied Amitayus holding a long-life vase in his hands, is flanked by the blue bodhisattva Vajrapani on the right and Avalokiteshvara on the left. He is seated on a large lotus flower on an elaborate throne with lions occupying the lower tiers, pillars at either side and a trilobate arch above. An Indian mahasiddha and a Tibetan white-robed Buddhist hierarch, possibly a Sakya benefactor of the Kohn family, are depicted on the left and right against the red background of the shrine, with deities and lamas above and to the sides. The elaborate lotus leaves, the athletic posture of the lions in the throne base and the graceful, flowing movement of the scarves suggest a western Tibetan provenance for this large temple thangka.
