A pair of celadon ground underglaze blue and copper red beaker vases

Qing dynasty, Kangxi period


each moulded in shallow reliefs with eight horses galopping or resting on the floor, the reverse with a large pine tree, the bark of the gnarled tree trunk naturalistically detailed in underglaze red, all reserved on a pale celadon ground save for the interior and the base left white, the base centered with an artemisia leaf mark
