Bhutan, 19th century

seated with his consort at the centre of the thangka, Chakrasamvara between sun and moon above, and the Drukpa Kagyu master Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal (1594-1651) above left, Shakyamuni Buddha centre and Jamgon (1647-1732) to the right, the raven-headed Mahakala, Vaishravana and Yudronma holding a drum and drum stick on the left, and Shri Devi, Tseringma and a protector riding a multi-headed bear on the right, and the snake-bodied Rahula emerging from a sea of blood below, with three mounted worldly protector deities
