volume 2 only (of 2), Royal folio (403 x 280mm.), 289 leaves (of 290), [Q–Z aa–zz AA–CC8 DD–FF6], double column, 50 lines, gothic type, woodcut illustrations, first initial supplied in Koberger's workshop on a gold ground in a square frame with leafy extensions, smaller initials in red (some with penwork decoration), some early printed woodcut initials pasted in, quire numbers written in red ink at head of gutter, CONTEMPORARY STAMPED CALF OVER BEVELLED WOODEN BOARDS by the Augsburg Blüte frei workshop [Kyriss 77; EBDB w000899, active 1477-1497], two clasps with new straps, coloured index tabs for each book, later slipcase, lacking fol. CCCCLXXXV (start of Mark), a few small wormholes, neatly rebacked
A fine crisp copy of the Koberger German Bible in a contemporary Augsburg binding, containing the text from Proverbs to Revelation.
