A Fragmentary Egyptian Indurated Limestone Head of Amenemhat III
12th Dynasty, period of Amenemhat III, 1818-1772 B.C.
with finely carved almond-shaped eyes, long eyebrows and cosmetic lines, and incised beard-straps.
Height 9.2 cm.
Paris art market, 1920s/1930s (based on the wood stand bearing the stamp of the Japanese artist and woodworker Kichizo Inagaki [1876-1951])
