Black Retourne Kelly 28cm in Togo Leather with Palladium Hardware, 2017

This Kelly Retourne is crafted of Togo leather in Black with Palladium hardware. The bag features a single rolled top handle, strap and turn lock closure, optional shoulder strap and a signature padlock that opens with keys. The flap opens to a matching Black chèvre lining with one zippered and one patch pocket.

Created by Robert Dumas in the 1930s, who was also responsible for creating women’s bags with straps, he designed a structured bag with two triangular gussets at the side, a cutout flap, top handle, and two side straps. It only became referred to, and renamed the Kelly in the late-1950s after then Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly, was photographed with this Dumas creation to hide her baby bump. Since then, the Kelly has grown into an entire extended family of bags, as well as accessories and watches.
