A 1994 release of the celebrated Patek Philippe Calatrava, this reference, 5000F, is an extremely rare collection of just 100 pieces specially created for the 200th anniversary of Patek Philippe’s retailer, Hausmann & Co., in Rome. Hausmann & Co. was founded by German clockmaker, Ernst Hausmann and his business partner, Hermann Frielingsdorf in 1794. The company remains today in the heart of Rome and continues to represent several of the world’s top watch and clock manufacturers.
This present example is a 33 mm 18k pink gold Patek Philippe reference 5000F with a brown alligator leather strap and 18k pink gold deployant buckle, matching the case for an extremely handsome appearance. This piece features an ivory dial with applied pink gold Breguet numerals, an outer minute track, as well as a subsidiary dial indicative of the seconds sitting at the 4 o’clock position. In addition to its clean, classic aesthetic, the piece’s self-winding and water-resistant qualities allow this watch to stomp on the grounds of both beauty and functionality.
