Purchased from the above by the brother of the present owner in 1994

The present view was painted from a studio that František Gross occupied from 1961 after the painter František Tichý. The studio was located on the fifth floor of the house V jámě 3 (near the Lucerna block on Vodičkova street). The present work belongs to a body of artwork associated with the artistic group Skupina 42 (Group 42) formulated by the leading art theorist Jindřich Chalupecký.

The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Dr. František Dvořák (Prague 1994). We are grateful to him for his assistance in cataloguing this work.
