Reference 6240 proves itself to be one of the most important references in the history of the Daytona. As an early reference to the manufacturer, reference 6240 would feature bold experimental concepts on the design of the dial as well as the case, and which both would fundamentally change the visual appearance of all future Daytonas.
Lacking the word “Oyster” the present dial is instead proudly stamped with an enlarged “Daytona” font, thus gaining the nickname “Big Logo” among collectors. Featuring a bakelite bezel printed with a white tachymeter scale, its subsidiary dials has beautifully aged into a tropical colour, making the present example an exceptional rarity among this already limited reference. Featuring its original pushers and acrylic bezel insert, the present Daytona has incredible character throughout.
