The first Atmos Clock was invented by French engineer Jean-Léon Reutter back in late 1920s. He later sold his patent to the LeCoultre Watch Company, which is now better known as the world famous watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre. The beauty of the Atmos clock is attributed to its time keeping method. The Atmos clock requires no mechanical or electrical intervention to keep time, but instead it uses the slightest change in atmospheric pressure to power its semi-perpetual motion.
