François-Paul Journe is the founder of a young independent watch making brand F.P. Journe and the only three-time winner of the Aiguille d'Or grand prize. Not only is he a technical genius in the field of watch making, he also quickly rose to fame in the competitive watch industry. With only 21 short years since the founding of F.P. Journe, collectors had started noticing the numbers of phase lifts among its collection and while the earlier Tourbillon Souverain is one of collectors’ most desired pieces, the present model, an early example of the Resonance with brass movement has been quickly gaining recognition by the mass market.

The Resonance in a glimpse may deceive the public as a simple dual time timepiece, however on the contrary, it not only has an appealing asymmetrical watch face, but it also has a very exciting and technologically advanced movement. As its name suggests, the Resonance adopts a pair of balance wheels that not only power the two-time zones displayed, but most astonishingly purpose is its ability to serve as an exciter and resonator that provides more inertia to the movement resulting in greater accuracy of time.

Like all early versions of F.P. Journe’s wristwatches, the present example features a clean brass movement with the case back engraved 291-02R, which indicates that this watch was made in the year 2002. Available in an exemplary condition, with an extraordinary dial with wonderful patina and all accessories provided, this Resonance is no doubt a very important example of its model.
