F.P. Journe's watchmaking skills standout via the Chronometre Optimum, a true testimony where complications and precision meet perfection. Designed in 2001, the Chronometre Optimum was F.P. Journe's first attempt to incorporate dead-beat seconds to a constant-force remontoire (meaning "to wind"). The twin-barrel design provides approximately 70 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The remontoire at 11 o'clock will tick in one-second bursts, synchronizing with the dead-beat seconds displayed on the case back. The dial is an achievement of asymmetrical perfection, with the remontoire showcasing technological prowess, off-center hours and minutes demonstrating accuracy and the power reserve indication tracing energy.
Using pink gold for the case and a delicate movement, F.P. Journe designed this watch with superior durability in mind. His aim was for it to work in 200 years, given the proper maintenance and care. The present boutique edition is fitted with a striking black dial and remains in superb overall condition. Furthermore, this timepiece comes with a beautiful presentation box—Certificate of Authenticity card and instructional manual.
