PIAGET | POLO, REF 7661 YELLOW GOLD BRACELET WATCH CIRCA 1985

The 1970s saw the emerging trend of slim and elegant bracelet watches, with the release of many such legendary designs. In an effort to follow this growing trend while maintaining a high degree of unicity, Piaget released the innaugural Polo in 1979 following Yves G. Piaget's impulse. The watch proved to be a commercial success, filling its luxury sports watch role with panache.

The present version dates from 1985 and is a true illustration of the design elements which make this watch unique. The integrated bracelet carries on the pattern on the dial, with a luxurious alternation between brushed and polished finishes. The caliber 8P was revealed at the 1980 Polo Cup in Palm Beach, with the introduction of the latest ultra-slim quartz timepiece by Ursula Andress herself.
