6 volumes bound in 3, folio (369 x 280mm.), general title in volume 1, 6 aquatint vignette titles, 144 aquatint plates on thick paper, some numbered, with 8 engraved plates, list of plates in each volume, modern red half morocco, marbled boards, re-guarded, new endpapers and tissue-guards, plate "Mausoleum of Nawaub" with repaired tear, occasional slight wear to edges
A VERY GOOD COPY, published with the general title. The text is signed on page 40 by the printer George Norman, who worked on Maiden Lane 1824-1871. "[Thomas] Daniell, assisted by his nephew [William], produced his best-known work Oriental Scenery (issued in six series) of Indian views ... these represent Mughal and Dravidian monuments, cityscapes and sublime views of mountains and waterfalls and formed the most extensive work of its kind, finding subscribers throughout Britain as well as in Calcutta and Madras" (ODNB).
