Else Thalemann worked as a photojournalist in Berlin in the 1930s for the Berlin-based photo agency Mauritius. Thalemann emigrated to the United States in 1938 and the contents of her Berlin studio was destroyed during the war. A similar study of the Eiffel Tower can be found in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.
