LETTER SIGNED, TO FRANCIS I, KING OF THE TWO SICILIES ("TO MY BROTHER")
expressing his desire "to strengthen and improve the Union and good Understanding which have so long and so happily subsisted between the Two Crowns" on Francis's accession to the throne, by appointing William Noel-Hill as his envoy to the court at Naples, with autograph subscription ("Sir my Brother your Majesty's good Brother George R"), 2 pages, large 8vo, integral address leaf with two red wax seal impressions and remains of silk ties, Carlton House, London, 9 February 1825
A FINE LETTER TO A FELLOW MONARCH. The letter announces the appointment of William Noel-Hill (1773-1842), the long-serving envoy to Sardinia, to the court of Francis I (r.1825-30) just a month after the latter's accession following the death of his father, Ferdinand I (for whose association with Nelson see lot 93).
