L'estampille Jacob Frères Rue Meslée est utilisée par George II Jacob et François-Honoré-Georges Jacob entre 1796 et 1803.
A l'exception des pieds antérieurs, ce fauteuil est proche de l'exemplaire autrefois conservé dans la collection Ledoux-Lebard, vendu à Paris chez Artcurial le 20 juin 2006, lot 132. Le haut dossier gondole sommé d'un bandeau se retrouve sur un dessin de l'architecte Pierre-François-Léonard Fontaine conservé dans une collection privée.
The stamp Jacob Frères Rue Meslée was used by George II Jacob and François-Honoré-Georges Jacob between 1796 and 1803.
Except the front legs, this model is very similar to the armchair formerly in the Ledoux-Lebard collection and sold in Paris, 20 June 2006, lot 32. The tall gondola shape back rest is to be found on a drawing by the architect Pierre-François-Léonard Fontaine (private collection).
