There are several known versions of this composition by Domenico Fetti, of which the prototype was once in the Giovanelli collection in Venice (oil on panel; H. 85 cm; L. 68 cm; see E. A. Safarik, Fetti, Milan 1990, no. 52, repr. p. 175). The present version is of fine quality and fairly close to the prototype, despite some variations, notably in the inscription which can be read on the red parapet.

Plusieurs versions de cette composition de Domenico Fetti sont connues, dont le prototype était autrefois dans la collection Giovanelli à Venise (huile sur panneau ; H. 85 ; L. 68 cm ; voir E. A. Safarik, Fetti, Milan, 1990, no. 52, repr. p. 175). De belle qualité, cette version-ci en est assez proche, malgré quelques variantes, notamment dans l’inscription qui se lit sur le parapet rouge.
