A renaissance gilt-brass monstrance table clock, German, circa 1600 and later


1¾-inch later gilt dial, (minute hand damaged), the surround with pierced sound fret, the later movement with engraved standing barrels to both trains, verge escapement with plain steel balance, foliate pierced striking gate, the bell mounted behind the dial, the backplate mounted with finely pierced and engraved balance cock and further mounts, the glazed case with finials and pierced mounts and supported on the earlier baluster pillar on an hexagonal base, the underside with sundial and compass and stamped GZ within a cartouche
