1991 Bo Jackson Game Used & Signed Chicago White Sox Road Jersey
For a time, it looked like Bo Jackson could do anything. As big a star on the gridiron as he was in the outfield, Jackson became a household name, even fronting his own line of Nike products. As could be expected, being a two-sport star had its consequences, and a hip injury suffered in the 1990 NFL Playoffs diminished his once boundless talents. After hip replacement surgery, Jackson was picked up by the Chicago White Sox and this offered road jersey was worn by Jackson during the 1991 season. After an arduous rehab, Jackson finally suited up for the White Sox in late 1991, playing in 23 games. In those 23 games, Jackson hit 3 home runs and had 14 RBI.
This Rawlings size 48 gray button-down White Sox jersey has “Chicago” in cursive script and Jackson’s number “8” sewn on the front in black and white tackle twill. The Rawlings manufacturer’s tag, along with a “SET 2 1991” flag, along with a gray patch with “T” is sewn on the front left tail. The back of the jersey has “JACKSON” and “8” sewn on directly to the jersey in black and white tackle twill. The right sleeve features a stitched “1991 Comiskey Park Inaugural Year” patch, while the left sleeve boasts a White Sox black diamond with white sock logo patch. “Rawlings” is embroidered in black beneath the Comiskey Park patch the sleeve ends are capped with black and white stripes. Jackson has signed his name in black marker on the front of the jersey, above the “ago” and inscribed “8#”. As expected with his limited playing time in 1991, this jersey displays light use. This comes with a LOA from noted baseball game used jersey expert William Henderson for the game use, plus a LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
