Nancy Diamond’s paintings examine the tenderness and brutality of nature. Her work is informed by the dichotomy of micro and macro scale movement in the natural world.
Diamond explores the confluence of the two by utilizing a mixture of pigments and paints to infuse a sense of fluidity and transparency into her subject matter, fabricating a physical and aesthetic harmony from their polarity.
Recent exhibitions of Diamond’s work include those at Platform Project Space, Brooklyn; Lesley Heller Workspace, New York; Pierogi Gallery, Brooklyn; Galerie Charles Schumann, Munich; Kabinett & Kammer, Andes, New York; and Art101, Brooklyn.
Please note that while this auction is hosted on Sothebys.com, it is being administered by the Art Institute of Chicago’s Society for Contemporary Art (the “SCA”), and all post-sale matters (inclusive of invoicing and property pickup/shipment) will be handled by the SCA. As such, Sotheby’s will share the contact details for the winning bidders with the SCA so that they may be in touch directly post-sale.
