The closest parallel to this ring is a Jewish wedding or betrothal ring located in the New York Jewish Museum identified as 15th or 16th century (inv. no. M45). However, such betrothal rings were frequently copied during the 18th and 19th centuries and the present example is likely to date to a later period of history.
