A PORCELAIN TEA AND COFFEE SET FROM THE ALEXANDRIA COTTAGE SERVICE, IMPERIAL PORCELAIN FACTORY, ST PETERSBURG, PERIODS OF ALEXANDER III (1881-1894) AND NICHOLAS II (1894-1917)


comprising a coffee pot, covered tea pot, five cups with saucers, a creamer and a sauce boat, all painted with the cottage's coat of arms: a blue shield emblazoned with a sword and wreath, the gilt borders with Cyrillic motto 'For Faith, the Tsar and the Fatherland'one piece with blue Imperial cypher of Nicholas I, with green Imperial cypher of Alexander III and green Imperial cypher of Nicholas II

The service, as well as other decorative objects at the palace were adorned with the coat-of-arms of Alexandria, which were created by the poet and tutor to Alexander Nikolaevich, Vasili Andreeevich Zhukovsky.
