A DANISH TEAK "FISH" COASTER SET

circa 1960s


a set of teak coasters arranged in the form of a fish, the brass eyes also form the rods on which the coasters slide, marked on the bases of two coasters 'Ernst Henriksen' and 'Made in Denmark'

Ernst Henriksen's workshop was in Kirstinedalsvej, Valby, near Copenhagen. He made a variety of homewares, such as lamps, vases, dining bowls and utensils, as well as novelty sculptures. The majority of items made by Henriksen were sold in an art shop in Copenhagen, called "Den Permanente".
