This blaxploitation film was directed by Michael Campus, and stars Max Julien, Richard Pryor, Juanita Moore and Dick Anthony Williams. John 'Goldie' Mickens (played by Max Julien) has just been released from prison, and on returning home he plans to be powerful and wealthy by becoming a pimp. Goldie's criminal ways are a stark contrast to those of his brother, who is a Black Nationalist, doing all that he can to save the community from drugs and violence.
