This classic Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft and Katharine Ross film, with its memorable soundtrack performed by Simon and Garfunkel was directed by Mike Nichols, who won an Academy Award for Best Director. This poster was produced as a tie-in with VISTA, who are an anti-poverty program in the USA, created by Lyndon Johnson's Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, as the domestic version of the Peace Corps. In the film's opening party scene Mr. Maguire, a friend of the Robinsons says to Benjamin 'I've got one word for you, Benjamin: plastics'. On the bottom of the poster above the word 'VISTA' it says 'You can put off plastics for a year'.
