Description

PINK FLAMINGOS (1972) 1973 ART HOUSE RELEASE POSTER, US

SIGNED BY JOHN WATERS, DIRECTOR

17 x 11 in. (43.2 x 27.9 cm)

Designed by Irvin Freeman. This piece is being sold with a copy of the National Peep trade paper (also signed by John Waters), showing Divine on the front page, and images and text relating to the making of the film.

John Waters wrote, directed, produced and edited this film. The film stars Divine, David Lochary and Mary Vivian Pearce The film is about the unsavoury and criminal Divine, who is trying to protect the label that she's been given by a tabloid paper as 'the filthiest person alive'. Divine comes up against competition and the battle begins. This poster was signed by John Waters at the BFI, London. It is rare for anyone to have an original film poster signed, as the majority of signatures are on pieces of paper, photographs and video/dvd sleeves. It is unusual to have the film's poster with you when you try to obtain signatures.
