KES (1969) POSTER, BRITISH

SIGNED BY KEN LOACH, DIRECTOR

30 x 40 in. (76 x 102 cm)

This British drama was directed by Ken Loach. The film is based on the 1968 novel A Kestrel for a Knave, written by Barry Hines. It is part of the kitchen sink realism movement that developed in the UK in the late 50s and early 60s. This movement focussed on those that were disillusioned with modern society, and on the domestic lives of working-class Britain. This poster was signed by Ken Loach at a screening of his film for I, Daniel Blake. It is rare for anyone to have an original film poster signed, as the majority of signatures are on pieces of paper, photographs and video/dvd sleeves. It is unusual to have the film's poster with you when you try to obtain signatures.
